position of lecturer in Musicology in the School of Humanities and Social
Sciences.

Professors/ Senior Lecturers in Musicology (1 Position)

Job Purpose

To teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, conduct research in the
field, offer consultancy services and participate in academic activities in
the University. The applicant should have a strong acumen and be well versed
in Cultural Music Publications.

Key Accountabilities

> Develop syllabus for music programmes
> Design short courses for specific performing groups
> Merge music with other academic programmes
> Lecturing, conducting tutorials as well as supervision of students’ thesis and practical projects contribute towards academic excellence through research and publications

Special Skills required for this position

> Ability to compose songs
> Knowledge and experience in performing arts

Required Qualifications and Experience

> Full Grade twelve certificate with five (5) Credits
> Minimum of a Masters Degree with a bias towards Ethno Musicology, Music
> Education and Performing Arts.
> A PhD in Ethno Musicology, Music Education and Performing Arts will be an added advantage
> Three (3) years of industrial [practical/research experience.
> A member of a registered professional body in Zambia.

the applicant.
