About CBM

Christian Blind Mission (CBM) is an international christian development
organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of persons with
disabilities in the poorest countries of the world. Since 1978, CBM has worked
in Zambia with government institutions and agencies, non-governmental
institutions (NGOs), Organizations for Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and
other like-minded institutions to implement Inclusive Eye Health and Community
Based Inclusive Development programs.

Purpose of the feasibility Study

The purpose of the study is to assess the feasibility of designing the
“Community based support for parents and caregivers of children with
neurodevelopmental disabilities“ in terms of relevance, effectiveness,
efficiency, impact and sustainability in the project area high density, low
income/poor areas of Chaisa, Garden, Mandevu, Marapodi, Chipata, Chazanga,
Kabanana and Ng’ombe compounds of Lusaka

The second purpose of this feasibility study is to provide a sound basis for
the development of the project concept by identifying prerequisites, threats,
opportunities, and risks. Opportunities of establishing self-help groups among
parents/caregivers with linkages to necessary services and opportunities,
including livelihood, Early child development, nutrition etc. should in
particular be looked at. The general programme context and key stakeholders
shall be assessed.

The study is also expected to assess the (draft) impact matrix, provide
baseline information and give specific recommendations for the programme
design as well as for investment decisions to achieve programme results.
