Workdays The total number of workdays will be informed by each piece of work
assigned to the graphic designer and will be agreed upon in advance.
Remaining Workdays (Research, Report Writing) No research or report writing
will be involved in this assignment. The graphic designer will only be
expected to present their assigned work for review and approval.

BACKGROUND
The Scaling Up Nutrition Program is a cross-ministry and multi-donor program
to reduce stunting in Zambia through implementation of the Government of the
Republic of Zambia (GRZ) 1,000 Most Critical Days Program (MCDP II), which
refers to the first 1000 days of a child’s life from conception to the second
birthday. SUN TA evidence-based, integrated interventions aim to increase
access to and availability of safe, diverse, nutritious food; encourage the
adoption of better child-feeding and household hygiene practices; and increase
access and use of improved health, water and sanitation services. The Project
prioritizes sustainability by improving both intra-household joint decision-
making and capacity-building among local government and stakeholders including
private sector to ensure coordination, accountability, social and behavior
change, and learning replicating the Scaling Up Nutrition theory of change
model.
SUN TA Project produces various publications as part of its communications
work. The purpose of this assignment is for the graphic designer to provide
the Project with ongoing professional graphic design services that will
contribute to the production of high-quality publications through creative and
compelling designs.
OBJECTIVE
Conceptualize, design and deliver high-quality publications such as reports,
brochures, factsheets, fliers, infographics and a host of other visibility
materials as will be requested.
TASKS
> Conceptualize visual print materials to help deliver SUN TA communications in a stimulating and impactful manner befitting the project image.
> Design print materials in accordance with the USAID branding guide.
> Use digital illustration, photo editing software, and layout software to create designed deliverables commissioned by SUN TA.
> Design and submit reports in different formats as advised.
> Deliver polished, high-level PowerPoint presentations using USAID Brand Guidelines.
> Conceptualize and design social media visuals such shareable infographics and photos.
> Incorporate changes communicated by the Communications Team
> Review design work for errors before submitting them for printing or publishing.
> Deliver high-quality publications such as reports, brochures, factsheets, fliers, and a host of other visibility materials, as and when needed.
> Attend meetings with Communications Team in relation to the commissioned assignments.
All assignments will be agreed upon in writing issued by the Communications
Team
DELIVERABLES
High-quality publications such as reports, brochures, factsheets, fliers and
other visibility materials as assigned.
The delivery dates will be advised and agreed upon on the date of
commissioning, taking into account the volume of each piece of work involved.
COPYRIGHTS
SUN TA, on behalf of USAID, will retain all rights (for both print and
digital) for publications developed on behalf of the project. While SUN TA
will retain copyright of all publications, credit will be appropriately given
to the graphic designer, when appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
> Diploma/Degree in a relevant discipline such as graphic designing, creative arts, mass communications.
> Seven or more years of experience in designing high-quality products.
> Experience in designing publications for USAID projects and understanding of USAID branding guide preferred.
> Highly skilled, creative and artistic
> Excellent computer skills and experience working with the latest design software
> Highly organized with good time-management skills.
> Good communication skills with experience working with culturally diverse teams.
