The Zambia Institute of Mass Communications (ZAMCOM) was established under the
ZAMCOM Act of Parliament of 1996 to provide Communications and Media training
and production services. ZAMCOM has been undergoing a corporate renewal and is
currently implementing a new strategic plan aiming at positioning the
organization to becoming financially viable and independent.

As part of its transformation process, ZAMCOM is inviting applications from
suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following position;

WAITER – 01

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Supervisor

Job Profile

To provide excellent service and ensure customer satisfaction by attending to
guests in a friendly and efficient manner while maintaining a clean and safe
work environment.

Main Duties

> Comply with all food and beverage regulations
> Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
> Plan bar and restaurant needs on a daily basis
> Ensure timely ordering of stocks from stores
> Stock Management
> Actively participate in preparation of bar and restaurant budgets
> Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and patron
> Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
> Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
> Uphold and Ensure highest standards of cleanliness in the restaurant at all times
> Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Knowledge and skills requirements

> Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
> Diploma in Hotel Management
> One year experience
> Be physically fit and be able to pass pre-employment and medical examinations.
> Computer Literate
> Strong verbal and written communication skills
> Knowledge of a variety of cuisine
