Position 1 IDELA Data Collector (Southern province X 18), (Eastern province
X 3)
Location*> Southern and Eastern province
Main Purpose of the Job
The main purpose of this position is to conduct end-line data collection using
the International Development and Early Learning Assessment (IDELA) tool under
the Scaling Up Early Childhood Development in Zambia (SUpErCDZ) project that
has been co-funded by Grand Challenges Canada and USAID for implementation in
the districts Kalomo, Choma and Pemba of Southern Province and Nyimba of
Eastern Province. It is a requirement that the data collectors be fluent in
one of the languages Tonga and Nyanja/Nsenga for this work.
Qualifications and Experience
> Grade 12 School Certificate
> Minimum Diploma or Higher Diploma in social sciences or data relevant field. Degree will be an added advantage.
> 2 – 3 years’ experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, and data management.
> Experience working with children or conducting data collection on children.
> MUST display the ability to create rapport with children.
> Experience administering the IDELA is an added advantage.
> Excellent command of ciTonga for position in Southern province and ciNyanja/Nsenga languages for position in Eastern province.
> Must be amenable to instruction.
> Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Position 2 MDAT Data Collector (Southern province X 18), (Eastern province
X 3)
Location*> Southern and Eastern province
Main Purpose of the Job
The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct child developmental
assessment in quantitative data collection for endline data collection for the
Scaling Up Early Childhood Development in Zambia (SUpErCDZ) project that has
been co-funded by Grand Challenges Canada and USAID for implementation in the
districts Kalomo, Choma and Pemba of Southern Province and Nyimba of Eastern
Province. In addition to quantitative data, data collectors will also need to
be able to interact with the children whom they must engage in play activities
so as to carry out the data collection process effectively. It is a
requirement that the data collectors be fluent in one of the languages Tonga
and Nyanja/Nsenga for this work.
Qualifications and Experience
> Grade 12 School Certificate
> Minimum diploma or Higher in Early Childhood Development or Early Childhood Education. Degree will be an added advantage.
> 2-3 years’ experience in quantitative data collection, and data management.
> Must be excellent in building relationships with children.
> Must be able to work under minimum supervision, have good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
> Excellent command of chiTonga for position in Southern province and ciNyanja/Nsenga languages for position in Eastern province.
> Experience working with the MDAT will be an added advantage.
Position 3 Household Survey and In-Depth Interview data collector (Southern
province X 18), (Eastern province X 3)
Location*> Southern and Eastern province
Main Purpose of the Job
The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct population level
quantitative data collection for end-line data collection for the Scaling Up
Early Childhood Development in Zambia (SUpErCDZ) project that has been co-
funded by Grand Challenges Canada and USAID for implementation in the
districts Kalomo, Choma and Pemba of Southern Province and Nyimba of Eastern
Province. In addition to quantitative data, data collectors will also be
conducting in-depth interviews. It is a requirement that the data collectors
be fluent in one of the languages Tonga and Nyanja/Nsenga for this work.
Qualifications and Experience
> Grade 12 School Certificate
> Bachelor’s degree in the following social sciences Demography, Early Childhood Development/ Early Childhood Education, Economics; or Diploma with at least 2 years’ experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection.
> 1-year experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and data management. Quantitative data collection experience should include electronic data collection tools and Qualitative data collection experience should include In-depth Interviews/Key Informant Interviews/Key Person Interviews.
> Excellent command of chiTonga for position in Southern province and ciNyanja/Nsenga languages for position in Eastern province.
> Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment and must be able to work with minimum supervision.
