Beit CURE Hospital is a children’s charity hospital founded by a Christian
Mission Organization, CURE International. We specialize in the surgical
treatment of disabilities in Orthopedics and ENT. Position Details

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Ward Fellowship Coordinator is a full member of the healthcare team who
provides for the pastoral needs of Patients, Guardians, families, and Staff.
The Ward Fellowship Coordinator, through professional training and
certification, assists patients, Guardians and clients to understand more
fully life’s events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-
being. From the patient’s, Guardians and client’s life experience, the Ward
Fellowship Coordinator may offer prayer or reflection. The Ward Fellowship
Coordinator will conducts regularly scheduled services in the hospital chapel.
These services often carry a nondenominational flair so that all Christian
faiths feel welcome in the service. The services are open to staff, patients
and hospital visitors. The Ward Fellowship Coordinator understands that
patients cannot leave the hospital, so messages often focus on the needs of
the patient for comfort, support and assurance of a loving God.

Position Ward Fellowship Coordinator

Reports to Spiritual Director

Department Spiritual Ministry

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1\. Carries out the goals of the Spiritual department within and outside the
Hospital.
2\. Facilitates Staff & ward devotions on a day to day basis.
3\. Ability to adhere to high standards of confidentiality
4\. Provides Spiritual support and counselling to Guardians, Patients & Staff.
5\. Evangelism and discipleship to patients, caregiver and staff.
6\. Offers religious and spiritual guidance to patients, Guardians and staff.
7\. Regular follow ups on discharged Patients.
8\. Regularly (as determined by Spiritual Director) visits all patients while
daily giving priority to those in greatest need.
9\. Is available to serve the families of deceased patients/clients as
required by follow-up guidance.
10\. Participates in committees and patients/client conferences to enhance the
continuity of care
to patients.
11\. Establishes positive working relationships with all members of Staff as
well as with the volunteers.
12\. Keeps records as required.
13\. Initiates and maintains communication with in Patients and discharged
Patients through consultation, notification of admission and discharge, and
educational programming.
14\. Assist in discipleship courses in collaboration with the Spiritual Center
Associate.
15\. Play the role of promoting peace and love among members of Staff in the
Hospital.
16\. Home visits (Wednesday & Friday afternoon).
17\. Attend Devotions
18\. Any other duties that may be assigned to you by Management/Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry

1) Diploma from an accredited institution required, preferred with a focus on
Bible or Theology.
2) Degree is an added advantage.
3) Minimum of two (2) years pastoral experience.
4) Prior experience in a health institution, preferably working with children
and their families is added advantage.
5) Ability to articulate the Ethical and Religious Directives for the
Hospital.
6) Ability to lead and coordinate prayer
7) Ability to facilitate group process

1) Solid standing in the Church through ecclesiastical endorsement
2) Good physical and emotional health
3) Ability and stamina to minister to patients & Guardians with varying
physical and mental dysfunctions
4) Flexibility in work hours, programs, and services.
5) Ability and desire to work with Patients, Members of Staff and volunteers
of varying faith backgrounds.
6) Experience in working as part of a team; good communication skills
7) Ability to communicate reasonably in (Bemba, Nyanja and tonga)
8) Good computer skills (In Microsoft word and excel)
