Zambian Financial Sector Deepening Limited (FSD Zambia) is a Zambian
organization working closely with key players throughout the economy to ensure
that all Zambians are financially healthy, notably the most excluded and

About the Job

The Informal Finance Manager will be responsible for the Informal Finance
dedicated and prescribed projects which involve, partnership relationship
management, funding process design, project process management and
accountability. In addition, this role will require technical and
administrative input, including, but not limited to annual workplans, budgets,
forecasts, annual and quarterly progress reports, etc. The portfolio is
indicative and additional responsibilities might be assigned to this role as
per FSD Zambia needs. This role reports directly to the Head – Informal
Finance.

Desired candidate

The candidate must be

> Have excellent collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability of collaboration with various partners including government and private firms.
> Be able to works with minimal supervision, able to consistently meet time/quality targets.
> Be comfortable with teamwork, innovation, and change to adapt to the needs and flows of markets and market players of all kinds.
> Have ability to produce consistently high-quality written outputs, demonstrating strong attention to detail
> Be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people of varied backgrounds or inter-disciplinary teams, that is, national and international experts.
> Have strong project management skills, relationship building skills, strong communication, influencing and engagement skills as well as ability to produce high quality reports and publications in English.
> Have strong strategic thinking and political judgement on financial inclusion issues and thrive when working under pressure and with flexible working hours.
> Have excellent knowledge of and work experience in Zambia.
> Have experience with Savings Groups and an understanding of the Zambian landscape for Savings Groups outreach.
> Be able to support both in terms of quality and efficiency, the organisations who have dedicated themselves to the promotion of Savings Groups.
> Be able to identify opportunities for improving access and usage of other Informal financial services in Zambia, particularly targeted to the low-income market segments

Qualifications and Experience

> Grade 12 certificate
> A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Development studies; Business administration or any related field. Master’s degree is an added advantage.
> At least 5 years’ professional experience of which 3 years should have been in a substantive role in supporting savings group implementation among poor rural households.
> An understanding of the Zambian and global informal finance landscape and their role of the informal financial sector in economic development and promotion of financial inclusion.
> A motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision, adhering to deadlines and used to meeting targets.
> IT literate with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power point
> Experience facilitating training modules using adult education/participatory methods
