Database Administrator and Applications Developer

Responsibilities

Application Development

> Developing software solutions to meet customer needs; both web and mobile apps
> Creating and implementing the source code of new applications
> Testing source code and debugging code
> Evaluating existing applications and performing updates and modifications
> Developing documentation to represent the design and code of new applications
> Implementing application User Interface enhancements

Datab*> ase Administration.

> Refining the physical and logical design of the database to meet user and system requirements
> Install and test new versions of the database management system (DBMS)
> Control access permissions and privileges
> Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans
> Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database
> Develop and implement queries to extract data from the database as requested by users
> Monitoring database efficiency
> Sustaining the security and integrity of data

Requirements

> Diploma/Degree in Computer science or any IT related field
> Experience with database software/web applications development with PHP, Java, HTML, C++, Python
> Working knowledge of structured query language (SQL) such as Microsoft SQL, MySQL
> Strong analytical and organizational skills
> Eye for detail and accuracy
> Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
> Understanding of Microsoft windows and Linux/Unix operating Systems
