# Job Description


POSITIION SENIOR PLANNER -1 VACANCY CONTRACT – 1 Year

JOB INTENT To ensure that planning schedules are executed accurately and
timeously to ensure Equipment maintenance obligations are met.

REPORTS TO Technical advisor

BRANCH LUMWANA KALUMBILA DISTRICT

Key Responsibilities .

-->Ensure job safety is reviewed and hazards on the jobs identified
-->Ensure good housekeeping through clean working place and tools at all times
-->Record machine downtime hours and downtime reasons.
-->Update daily downtime and availability report and distribute to management.
-->Record all defects reported by the execution team and operator’s indication the priority for each defect. Backlog
-->Ensure that maintenance plans are in place for all equipment.
-->Perform weekly forecasting and scheduling.
-->Assign labor and resources for all work that has been identified for the week ahead i.e. planned maintenance and backlog.
-->Ensure that the weekly plan has been approved by the fleet manager.
-->Create work orders for each task and picking slips for collection of parts from Hitachi warehouse.
-->Communicate component requirements well in advance with Reman and use consolidated transport for delivery unless breakdown.
-->Run daily planning meetings to confirm readiness for the day ahead, coordinate unplanned work and do some pre-planning for the next day.
-->Create a system which records maintenance activities on each dump truck.
-->Ensure that all mandatory inspections and calibrations are done as per equipment manufacturers’ specifications and legislative requirements.
-->Create and maintain a component hour report to track life of each major component.
-->Manage the oil sampling program and generate a weekly report highlighting areas of concern.
-->Complete all warranty claims.
-->Schedule maintenance of support vehicles.Conduct Coaching and mentoring on team members .
-->Training needs of subordinates identified and submitted to relavant sections.
-->Implement a Continuous improvement culture among team members .

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

-->Grade 12 Certificate
-->Minimum of a Diploma in Heavy Equipment Repair/Mechanical Engineering
-->Certificate in a Business-related field is Added Advantage
-->Minimum experience of 5 years on heavy equipment machinery in a mining environment
-->Valid driver’s license
-->Practicing Member of EIZ

-->Knowledge of Safety Standards
-->Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
-->Computer literacy MS Office
-->Advanced knowledge of Machines & Equipment
-->Knowledge of maintenance management
-->Knowledge of the use of parts and service manuals
-->Excellent people Management Skills and team Building
-->Good communication skills with supervisory experience
-->Problem Solving and analytical skills After failure analysis
-->Cost Awareness
