inviting applications to fill the following vacant position

GROUP TAX MANAGER

The successful candidates will report to the Chief Financial Officer

> Supervising the accounting and reporting for the Business’ tax liabilities and advising on tax provisioning;
> Preparing a tax budget, income tax return and quarterly tax liability forecasts;
> Ensuring that provisional tax payments are correctly calculated and paid;
> Ensuring that all of the Business’ tax compliance obligations are fully met in a timely and efficient manner and that the calculation of all tax liabilities is managed and tax payments are made in accordance with legislation and prescribed deadlines;
> Reviewing the monthly Value Added Tax Returns and excise returns prior to signature by the Chief Financial Officer and submission thereof to Zambia Revenue Authority;
> Responsible for Tax audits and resolution of tax disputes, assessments and demands;
> Ensuring that regular operational tax reviews are conducted across the Group as appropriate;
> Ensuring that Transfer Pricing review files are in place and updated on an annual basis;
> Monitoring any changes in the tax laws applicable to the Business and communicating and ensuring that these changes are implemented timeously by the Business;
> Ensure tax reputational matters are effectively and efficiently handled;
> Promoting and implementing the standardisation, automation and improvement of tax systems, as appropriate and in the context of Group initiatives;
> Pro-actively managing key tax value, risks and issues across the Business by dedicating sufficient time and energy to resolve such issues in a cost-effective way;
> Developing and executing strategies to ensure tax efficiency across the Business;
> Planning and presenting internal tax training, e.g. training of all relevant staff on tax matters;
> Providing tax input on lobbying initiatives that involve tax issues;
> Developing, documenting and implementing an appropriate tax strategy for the subsidiary companies and ensuring alignment to Group tax strategy;
> Implement appropriate structures, agreements and tax matters that may impact on the Group.

This job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following
requirements –

> Grade 12 certificate with minimum 5 credits.
> Full ACCA, CIMA, ZICA or equivalent.
> 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing, Tax advisory or FMCG environment.
> Member of ZICA
> Understanding of Zambian Tax Legislation.
