The Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD), one of the UK’s leading
international aid agencies, is currently looking for a Programme Support
Accountant for our Zambia office finances & general administration.

Based in the Lusaka office, the Programme Support Accountant will provide
financial support and accompaniment to CAFOD Zambia partners in accordance
with CAFOD Policies and Procedures on partnership and finance. This support
will primarily focus on the capacity development of partners on financial
standards and systems including assessments and mutual agreements on partner
financial needs and will involve preparation of financial accounts reports and
financial aspects of donor compliance. The incumbent will also be responsible
for office book-keeping and maintain bank & cash, liaise with internal and
external contacts providing information as needed and provide general office
support. The Programme Support Accountant will ensure financial compliance,
that is, internal control systems, donor and CAFOD policies and procedures are
adhered to.

The Programme Support Accountant will report to the Country Representative in
Zambia and work in liaison with the Regional Finance and Administration
Manager in Harare for support.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person with good inter-personal skills. You
should have in-depth experience in partner grant management gained over the
years working in Zambia, be fluent in written and spoken English and have
numeracy skills. You should have knowledge of accounting systems preferably
SUN Accounting System – (Infor10) and knowledge of Microsoft excel. A degree
in accounting or partial professional qualifications such as –ACCA stage 2 or
other related discipline is expected for the job. You should be willing to
travel.
