SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION
The Health Liaison Officer’s role is to oversee the daily operations of COVID
and health related issues and activities offered in camp in order to guide
guests and staff. To ensure all staff receive regular training on Health and
Safety and to ensure all guests and staff receive the best possible care while
within an ABC property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES
> Conduct COVID screening (in line with ministry of health protocols) for staff and guests.
> Conducts health training and awareness with staff
> Guest relations in line with ABC COVID protocols. Maintain a line of communications with guests to enlighten them as to procedures ABC follows within our camps.
> Attends to and takes the lead in all medical emergencies on site
> Conducts emergency simulations
> Report to the camp manager with new ideas and tasks undertaken.
> High level of communication with management on developments.
> Take charge of all First Aid Requirements, which includes first aid boxes within the camp, vehicles, and Helipad.
> Maintain a high level of guest safety and staff safety in line with protocols laid out by ABC and the HLO (Health Liaison Officer).
> Ensuring policies and procedures are always adhered to.
> Communicate new health and safety ideas to the manager within budget protocols.
> Ensure health and hygiene disciplines are maintained both back of house as well as front of house. Conducts audits and regular checks.
> Flexible workhours – available 24h a day.
> Keeps all emergency plans up-dated.
> Maintain regular communications with medical stakeholders to ensure ALL lines of communications are open and available for use
> To ensure all health-related equipment is functional, BVM’s, AED, Spinal boards, Oxygen tanks etc.
> Any other duties that management delegates to you.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
> At least a diploma in occupational health and safety, environment or related field
> Must have at least 2 years’ experience working in the Hospitality industry
> Knowledge in COVID screening procedures
> Knowledge in Food safety and First Aid
> Knowledge in ISO systems will be an added advantage(ISO 22000, ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
> Creative, self-motivated, proactive and confident
> Membership with Zambia Occupational Health and Safety Association (ZOHSA)
> Experience managing a diverse team and a strong willingness to build the capacity of local staff
> Strong verbal and written communication skills
