FQM

Purpose of the role

> The position exists to organize resources to maximise equipment availability and man power through proper planning and controlling of artisan riggers, crane operators and drivers to ensure engineering activities go on in a professional manner. Duties also include supporting maintenance personnel, maintaining operational integrity of the plant & equipment in order to achieve production targets.

Key Responsibilities

> Give clear direction, control and supervise the Riggers, Operators and Drivers to ensure safe and a healthy work environment for all.
> Be a self-starter and able to work autonomously and as part of a team
> Demonstrate a commitment to work place safety and the safety of your subordinates.
> Be accurate, methodical, and practical when giving guidance to your crew.
> Ensure subordinates follow laid down policies and procedures as out lined by management.
> Enforce Compliance to work order attachments and documents such as JSA’s, Work Procedure’s, SWI’s, etc.
> Ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental Management systems, policies and procedures along with ensuring that all risks have been identified, managed and safe working environment is maintained
> Enforce good housekeeping practices are maintained by enforcing cleaning up before, during and after every task and not leaving any hazards within the work place
> Ensure that the subordinates receive all necessary trainings being offered by companies training team and beyond.
> Have the ability to plan for shutdowns, arrange materials and manpower allocation in collaboration with planning department.
> Any other tasks as may be delegated upon by the supervisor.

Qualification, Experience & Skill

> G12 Certificate
> A relevant craft certificate or its equivalent. Higher education attainment will be an added advantage
> Qualified Rigger with good knowledge on crane operations and load studies.
> Proven Knowledge and experience on heavy mining units; Overhead cranes; Mobile Cranes and lifting equipment.
> Must have at least 5 years’ experience working as a supervisor.
> The ability to evaluate a situation and make decisions.
> Effective written and verbal communication skills.
